Bob Arum Hates MMA

On 9/15 I had every fight fan in Fargo all fired up. I played some clips of an interview that I saw online of legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum ragging on the UFC and their fans. That entire interview can be seen below. The real ugliness doesn’t start until about the 4-minute mark, so feel free to fast-forward.

Wow. Then we went to the phones. I know there’s a huge amount of MMA fans in this town. I see it everytime there’s a UFC pay-per-view playing and there’s not a single bar in town that isn’t A) showing the fights and B) packed to the rafters. I got a huge flood of phone calls and naturally didn’t have time to air them all. Here’re some of the greatest hits that didn’t make it onto the air.

Yep…folks weren’t happy with Bob Arum’s racist ass. But maybe he just had a slip of the tongue. Maybe he’s actually a good guy. If only we had an inside source. Someone who has met Bob and could give us some kind of actual insight. Oh, wait…
