Roland Emmerich is getting outta hand.

"Disaster Porn"

That's the label that the internet has decided to place on director Roland Emmerich's body of work. I can't say I blame 'em. If you look at his filmography, I'd say it's fairly accurate. Emmerich, who was the man behind such "gems" as Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow, and the thoroughly awful American version of Godzilla, has slowly been building up his wave of CG destruction. Lets take a look:

  • Independence Day - 1996: Roland Emmerich blows up the White House.
  • Godzilla - 1998: Roland Emmerich destroys various points of New York City with an enormous lizard.
  • The Day After Tomorrow - 2004: Roland Emmerich destroys the entire northern half of the US.

So, of course, the logical next step for Roland Emmerich is to blow up the whole GD world.

So, yeah. That happened. It's gonna be awful and we're all gonna go watch it...to see just how awful it is.
