COREY TAYLOR Talks Future Of SLIPKNOT, 'Knotfest' In New Video Interview

KXVO, the CW affiliate in Omaha, Nebraska, conducted an interview with SLIPKNOT/STONE SOUR singer Corey Taylor at SLIPKNOT's first-everKnotfest, an extraordinary two-date metal and hard rock festival which took place on August 17 in Council Bluffs, Iowa and August 18 in Somerset, Wisconsin. You can now watch the chat below.

Asked what kind of bands he would like on future editions of Knotfest,Taylor said, "For me, I would like to keep it… Bands from our generation, or maybe, like, SLAYER would be wonderful to have on the Knotfestshows. Stuff like KORN, maybe, would be great, ROB ZOMBIE — maybe even encourage a WHITE ZOMBIE reunion."

He added, "I'm not sure. There's a lot of great metal bands out there right now and this might be a great platform for them to have their own moment in the sun. So I think as long as we put together a package people really wanna see, I think it will sell itself."

Regarding what he sees in the future for SLIPKNOTTaylor said, "We're gonna take a break and slowly but surely start putting some music together. Obviously, I have STONE SOUR that's going out for probably about a year and a half, two years with two albums. Joey's [Jordison, drums] got something, Clown's [percussion] got something, everybody's kind of got something that they're doing right now. But in the interim, we'll start putting music together and we'll just kind of see what happens."

He continued, "Obviously, the more we feel together as a band and as a family, the easier it will be to start working on new music. Obviously, without [late SLIPKNOT bassist] Paul [Gray], it's a little bittersweet, but I think the closer we become as a band, the closer we'll be to making a new album. So maybe in a couple years; we'll see. But it's gonna take a little time.”

DEFTONES Had 'Tons Of Ideas' For New Album, Says Singer

Sacramento, California-based alternative rock band DEFTONES has set a November 13 release date for its seventh studio album, entitled "Koi No Yokan". The group worked again with producer Nick Raskulinecz, who helmed 2010's "Diamond Eyes" and has also worked on albums by RUSHand FOO FIGHTERS.

Speaking to AOL's NoisecreepDEFTONES frontman Chino Moreno stated about the songwriting process for "Koi No Yokan", "We were coming out of a tough time, obviously, and our goal was to kind of rebuild what we created over all the years. I felt like we had to prove ourselves. We'd taken so much time between records, had some inner turmoil, and our records were starting to get pieced together versus really being created together, so for us it was a chance to get back to basics. We didn't have an idea of what sort of style we wanted. We just came in fired up and motivated to do something great. It was all very positive. We had more songs than ever, tons of ideas."

Asked about DEFTONES bassist Chi Cheng, who has been in a semi-comatose state since a 2008 auto accident, Moreno said, "When I was 17 years old, I moved out of my parents’ house and moved in with him. We've been best friends most of my life. I'll just be doing some random thing in my life and he's always in my thoughts. The whole band feels very strongly about him and he's always been a part of things. The main thing we try to do is keep a positive attitude because it's not like he died — it's more or less he's still alive and fighting and we all have hope — that's the way we handle things."

Puddle of Mudd Frontman Booted from Plane and Arrested

Puddle of Mudd singer Wes Scantlin is in trouble again.  Scantlin was arrested at Bergstrom International Airport in Austin, Texas Tuesday after allegedly getting into a drunken argument with a flight attendant over his excessive drinking, E! News reports.
The Austin Police Department tells E! Scantlin was on board a JetBlue flight from Boston to Los Angeles when the plane was diverted to Austin.
E! quotes law enforcement officials as saying, “The flight was diverted to Austin due to Wes Scantlin, lead singer of Puddle of Mudd.  Once the plane landed the officers did their investigation and deemed that the individual was intoxicated and was place under arrest for public intoxication.”
A source further tells TMZ.com that Scantlin became upset on the flight because the flight crew refused to sell him booze.
Scantlin was later slapped with an additional charge of interference with a flight crew and booked into the Travis County Jail.
The singer pleaded guilty to felony cocaine possession in July, but was offered an opportunity to avoid jail by enrolling in a drug program by August 8. A Los Angeles judge issued a bench warrant for Scantlin after he failed to appear in court to show proof of his enrollment.  The judge gave Scantlin a new court date of August 17.  The current status of the bench warrant and his enrollment in the drug program is unclear.

Bellamy added that ever since the band began playing live, he’s been going through a personal transformation to gain more confidence as a lead singer. “I'd been quite an introverted person in the early years of the band,” he explains. “I was actually having a lot of trouble coming out of myself. Over the course of the first three albums I gradually opened up, and something came out of me, a strange level of confidence that I didn't know was there.”
