ZAKK WYLDE To Release First Signature-Edition 'Guitar Apprentice' Instructional Product
Zakk Wylde (BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, OZZY OSBOURNE) has announced his first signature-edition guitar instruction collection, exclusively available at Guitar Centers across the country beginning October 1.
Guitar Apprentice takes a hit guitar song and breaks it down into 15 different levels of playing. The user is playing great guitar songs with a full band, supplying only a chord or two at first. The user can then work on songs at any desired speed and when it is completed is playing 100 percent of the song — including solos. At every level, Guitar Apprenticeshows the user visually, exactly what and when to play at the pace he or she desires.
The Zakk Wylde Signature Edition Guitar Apprentice was recorded live at Wylde's Black Vatican studio in Los Angeles and features six DVDs of guitar instruction by Wylde himself, including signature rhythm patterns, solo breakdowns, tones, pedals and gear. Fifteen levels of learning are provided per song.
The Zakk Wylde Signature Edition Guitar Apprentice features exclusivevideos, personal tours of the Black Vatican, and interviews.

MATT SORUM On GREEN DAY Frontman's Rant: It Was 'The Most Punk Rock Thing He Has Ever Done'
Former GUNS N' ROSES and current VELVET REVOLVER drummer Matt Sorum says that GREEN DAY frontman Billie Joe Armstrong's profanity-filled tirade at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas last Friday (September 21) was "the most punk rock thing he has ever done." ButSorum added via Twitter, "Then [Billy] had to go and ruin it by apologizing. Corporate rock is alive and well. Never really bought that band anyway."
Armstrong exploded after his band's set was cut from 45 minutes to 25, and he was given a signal halfway through their seventh song that they had one minute left. After screaming for two minutes at promoters, he smashed his guitar and left the stage.
A statement was issued on Sunday (September 23), apologizing for the incident and stating that a number of other promotional appearances by the band would be canceled while Armstrong sought help.
Billie Joe delivered the induction speech for GUNS N' ROSES at this past April's Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony in Cleveland, Ohio, saying, "The first time I saw GUNS N' ROSES on MTV, I thought, 'One of these guys could end up dead or in jail,'" He raved about "Appetite For Destruction", calling it "the best debut album in the history of rock and roll."

While Incubus settles into another hiatus, the band has just announced that they’ll be releasing a new greatest hits compilation CD to tide fans over until they get back together again. The Essential Incubus will feature 28 songs, including such hits as “Drive,” “Stellar,” “Megalomaniac,” “Anna Molly,” “Love Hurts,” and also “Make a Move” from the 2005Stealth movie soundtrack. Muse Streams Entire The 2nd Law Album on iTunes
After posting “Madness” and “The 2nd Law: Unsustainable” from their upcoming release, The 2nd Law, Muse is ready for you to hear the whole album. The band has now posted a stream of every song from the new album on iTunes, where it'll remain from now until the album's release date on Tuesday. The 2nd Law features 13 new tracks and will be available on CD, digital and vinyl formats. Deftones Frontman Says Bassist Vega “Totally Invigorated” Songwriting Process for Koi No Yokan
It appears that Deftones fans should be thanking bassist Sergio Vega for the band's upcoming album, Koi No Yokan. Frontman Chino Moreno says that Vega’s positive attitude was the inspiration the band needed to begin working on songs for the forthcoming release. Vega joined the veteran act in 2009.
"When he came in, he was excited,” the singer tells Rolling Stone. “It's definitely kicked some life into this whole thing, and we really appreciate him for that. If it hadn't been for Sergio as a person, and as the bass player he is, I don't foresee us sitting here right now talking about a Deftones record. He totally invigorated the whole thing, and still continues to every day." Koi No Yokan is due in stores on November 13. Before the album is released, the band will hit the road for a headlining tour to promote it. That outing begins on October 9 at the Ventura Theatre in Ventura, CA. Scars on Broadway, a side project of System of a Down guitarist Daron Malakian, will support the band on all the dates.
