PAPA ROACH: Official 'Before I Die' Lyric Video Released
The official lyric video for the song "Before I Die" from Californian rockersPAPA ROACH can be seen below. The band recently filmed a video for the track, which included an underwater scene.
"Before I Die" comes off PAPA ROACH's new album, "The Connection", which sold 22,000 copies in its first week of release to debut at No. 17 on the Billboard album chart.
PAPA ROACH performed for a worldwide live stream and took questions from fans on October 23 via YouTube, marking the first time the band played live since vocalist Jacoby Shaddix underwent surgery in September to remove nodes from his vocal cords. Shaddix's condition forced him to stop singing and led his band to drop off this past summer's Rockstar Energy Uproar Festival tour.
Shaddix told The Pulse Of Radio that pulling out of that tour and going straight into surgery was probably the smartest thing he could have done. "Best decision I ever made," he said. "You know, it was a tough decision, but best decision. Went in and got the surgery — I was freaking out. I remember I was going into surgery, I'm like, tear rolling down my face, like, 'God, please guide this surgeon's hands,' cause, you know, I mean, shit could go bad real quick."
Shaddix told Loudwire, "I couldn't talk at all so that sucked. It was the longest silence of my life since I was born; I just wanted to talk so bad."
Even before his vocal problems started, Shaddix admitted in several new interviews that he came close to committing suicide earlier in the year as he struggled with both marital problems and falling off the wagon.

Rage Against the Machine’s Tom Morello Gives Thanks to “Passionate Fans,” Addresses Recording Rumors
Later this month, Rage Against the Machine will release a 20th anniversary edition of their self-titled debut album, titled XX. Guitarist Tom Morello says that the band decided to put together the special package as a thank you to their dedicated fan base."We are blessed with having perhaps the most passionate fans to ever listen to a bootlegged recording or mosh at a show, so I want to really give them a motherlode of Rage Against the Machine history, past and present," Morello tells Billboard.com.
The guitarist adds that while it “doesn’t feel like 20 years” since the band release their debut effort, he’s happy that their politically-charged music has echoed strongly through the years.
"We're able to take pride in the fact that in the history of rock music there has never been a more popular band with as radical politics as Rage Against the Machine, nor has there been a band with more radical politics than Rage Against the Machine that has been as popular,” explains Morello. “That is the lasting testament to the first shot fired by this album and how it continues to resonate with rebels around the world."
In addition, Morello squashed any circulating rumors that the band are working on a new studio album, declaring that RATM has “no plans beyond” dropping XX.
While we’ll be able to get our hands on XX on November 27, Morello hints that there may be more live CD/DVD sets from the band headed our way in the future.
