We are shooting for a deadline that is at the end of April, early May. We are working hard every day on this thing. I am at the phase now where I am laying down solos here at my home studio. Generally, the first portion of the recording process I am writing and working on rhythm stuff. It's not 'till the last quarter that I switch over to doing the other stuff."

CLUTCH: 'Crucial Velocity' Lyric Video Released
The official lyric video for the song "Crucial Velocity" from Maryland rockers CLUTCH can be seen below. The track comes off the band's new album, "Earth Rocker", which will be released on March 19 via CLUTCH's own Weathermaker Music label. Produced by Machine (LAMB OF GOD, FOUR YEAR STRONG, FALL OUT BOY) at the Machine Shop studio in Belleville, New Jersey, the CD was described by CLUTCH vocalist Neil Fallon in a recent interview with DCHeavyMetal.com as "probably faster than most of our recent albums. Maybe compared to some other bands, it's not the fastest thing on planet Earth. For us it was definitely a step up in the tempo. And I think the other thing that kind of stands out about this one is the blues influences that we've been flirting with over the past couple records is more or less absent in this record, which didn't really happen intentionally until we looked back at it. As a whole, it's just much more of a straight-up rock and roll record."
The artwork for "Earth Rocker" was created by Nick Lakiotes, longtime CLUTCH art director, who has worked on previous efforts, including"Robot Hive/Exodus" and "Strange Cousins From The West".
CLUTCH is featured on the cover of this month's Decibelmagazine. The issue features an in-depth interview with the entire band, as well as a special column on craft beer from the band's drummer and resident beer expert Jean-Paul Gaster.
CLUTCH kicked off the first leg of the "Earth Rocker" North American tour on March 8 in Cincinnati, Ohio and it runs through April 20 in Baltimore. Support on the first leg is coming from ORANGE GOBLIN,LIONIZE and SCORPION CHILD. CLUTCH will also make two South By Southwest Music Festival appearances in Austin, Texas this year.
The second leg of the "Earth Rocker" North American tour was recently announced and will kick off May 1 in Richmond, Virginia and run through May 26 in San Antonio, Texas. Support on this run will come from THE SWORD and LIONIZE.
VOLBEAT: Fan-Filmed Video Footage Of Entire San Antonio Concert
Fan-filmed video footage of VOLBEAT's entire March 9 in San Antonio, Texas can be seen at this location. A couple of the clips are available below.
VOLBEAT has released the video for "Cape Of Our Hero", the first single from the Danish band's upcoming album, "Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies". The song has just hit rock radio, while the clip tells the story of a young man who looks back at his youth and remembers his father as the most heroic figure in his life. Frontman Michael Poulsen told The Pulse Of Radio that the song was very personal to him. "I lost my father four, five years ago and I believe that every man in this universe, you know, they have their heroes and most of us are looking at our dad as a big hero," he said. "And so, of course, I'm singing about a little boy who lost his father, and then at the same time he loses his belief in his superheroes."
"Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies" will be released on April 9.
Former ANTHRAX member Rob Caggiano, who was a producer on the new disc, recently joined the band as its new guitarist. He replaces guitarist Thomas Bredahl, who was given his walking papers in November 2011.
The new disc follows up 2010's "Beyond Hell/Above Heaven", which featured three No. 1 rock radio hits, "A Warrior's Call", "Still Counting"and "Heaven Nor Hell".
VOLBEAT is currently on a spring tour of North America that next stops in Las Vegas on Thursday (March 14).

Actor Compares Metallica's Through the Never Film to Pink Floyd’s The Wall
In Treatment actor Dane DeHaan, who portrays a member of Metallica’s stage crew in the band’s 3D movie Through the Never, says that the upcoming flick draws some inspiration from Pink Floyd’s 1982 cult film, The Wall. “It’s in a way like a 3D concert movie but there’s also this narrative that ties together all the footage,” DeHaan tells Collider.com in a video interview. “It’s unlike anything that I’ve ever seen before; it’s almost like a concert movie meets The Wall meets Metallica.”
DeHaan adds that the film features a separate storyline where he must carry out a special request for the band. “During the concert I basically go on this trip as a roadie for the band and I pretty much literally have to go through hell and back…and all of this is going on during the concert so it all ties together really kind of beautifully and uniquely.” Metallica Through the Never is expected to arrive in theaters on August 9.
