"Black Out The Sun" track listing:

01. Memory
02. Faithless
03. Till Death
04. Mountain
05. Cold As War
06. Black Out The Sun
07. Nobody Wants It
08. Dead Roses
09. Decay
10. Dark AM
11. Picture Perfect
12. Got A Feeling
13. Murder Bar

SEVENDUST is planning to film the video for the CD's first single,"Decay", at the end of the month, just before its upcoming tour withLACUNA COIL kicks off on February 2 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

SEVENDUST drummer Morgan Rose tells Billboard.com that the song actually came from a riff left over from the "Cold Ray Memory" sessions.

"We were starting to get burnt and we didn't want to push it," Roserecalls. "So we had this riff, and we said, 'Let's jam it and see if anything comes of it.' And before you know it, it became a song that ends up on the record, and everybody listens to it and they end up picking that as the single, which was pretty cool."

The song "Murder Bar" was reportedly inspired by a Butler, New Jersey bar across from the hotel where SEVENDUST was staying while recording the new CD. Rumor had it the place was popular with many of New Jersey's murderers.

"It's a basic SEVENDUST record," guitarist Clint Lowery recently told"Source Of The Sound With Wendy Campbell". "There's nothing, like, too completely different than anything we've done before. It's got a darker vibe to it. We've got a good amount of the programming element in there. It's a lot of what we do — it's heavy and it's got its melodic element in it. So if you're a SEVENDUST fan, it's more along the lines of the second and third records we did — it's kind of like that. It's got a couple of throwback vibes to it. 'Animosity' and 'Home' [1999], if I can put those two records together, it would [sound similar to the new CD]."

Watch Soundgarden’s “By Crooked Steps” Video, Directed by Dave Grohl

Soundgarden takes a stand against electronic music in the new video for “By Crooked Steps,” the next single from the band’s first album in over 15 years, King Animal.
The four-minute clip, which was directed by Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl, features the band as a Segway-driving biker gang out for a night on the town. The guys show up a club and eject a DJ -- who's spinning tracks from his computer -- from the stage so they can perform live music. After the DJ calls the police on the band, the guys make a run for it on their Segways and are quickly arrested by a cop played by electronic DJ Deadmau5.

Guitarist Brian "Head" Welch Says Korn Will Perform “Hard-Hitting, Energetic Classics” at Rock on the Range Festival

As previously reported, former Korn guitarist Brian "Head" Welch will rejoin the band at the upcoming Rock on the Range festival, which takes place May 17-19 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, OH. Welch says that while a set list for their performance has yet to be created, he has an idea of what the band will play during their concert.
"Obviously, all the hard-hitting, energetic classics, where people lose their mind -- those will definitely be there,” he tells Rolling Stone. “Because those are the funnest ones to play."
In addition to performing with Korn at Rock on the Range, Welch will perform two full concerts with the guys later this year in Germany. Those shows will take place at the Rock am Ring and Rock im Park festivals on June 7-9, in the towns of Nürburgring and Nürnberg, respectively.
However, just because Welch has a few dates scheduled, fans shouldn’t expect the guitarist to join the band for a full tour anytime soon. "We're going slow," he notes. "We're hanging out when I've got time…but I'd say anything is possible right now."

Kid Rock Will Headline Harley-Davidson's Anniversary Celebration

Kid Rock will help Harley-Davidson celebrate its 110th anniversary later this year.
The motorcycle company has announced that Rock will be one of the headliners of its 110th Anniversary Celebration in Milwaukee during Labor Day weekend. Tickets will go on sale to the public later this spring.
Harley-Davidson, which will be the title sponsor of Rock's soon-to-be-launched Rebel Soul tour, is also holding a national contest in which one fan will win a factory-customized bike and the chance to join Rock on stage during the Milwaukee performance. More details on the national contest can be found on Harley-Davidson.com.
A similar contest, which will also allow one lucky fan the opportunity to hit the stage with Rock's band, will be held at each tour stop.
Rock praises Harley-Davidson in a statement, saying, "They are the backbone of American culture, the flagship American brand. I am honored and excited to partner with this legendary icon that has helped to define American freedom at home and abroad."

Dave Grohl Cites Sound City Studios' History as Reason for Nirvana's Success

Dave Grohl feels Nirvana owes a debt of gratitude to Sound City Studios’ rich history. The former Nirvana drummer says that he chose to make his Sound City documentary about the legendary studio -- where Grohl and Nirvana recorded the band's landmark 1991 album, Nevermind -- because it was directly responsible for the band’s commercial success.
"There's a story behind every single classic album that was put together behind those doors, and if it wasn't for the people who kept those rooms alive, maybe half of us wouldn't have gone there,” Grohl tells BBC News. “Nowhere else would have allowed Nirvana to make a record which sounded as raw as it did. And without that sound, I don't think I'd be here today."
Grohl adds he hopes that the upcoming film will inspire future generations of musicians. "I don't want kids to be confused and think you have to go to college to study music,” he explains. “You can just go into an old guitar shop, buy the biggest piece of junk and then write a beautiful song and become the biggest band in the world. These things can happen.”
While Sound City recently had its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, the documentary will be shown in a select number of movie theaters across North America, for one night only on January 31, before being released digitally on February 1.  The film’s soundtrack, Sound City -- Real to Reel, will arrive at all the usual outlets on March 12.

Tool Guitarist Adam Jones Engaged

The guitarist proposed to his girlfriend Korin during Sunday’s WWE Royal Rumble pay-per-view special.  Jones, who’s an avid wrestling fan, popped the question at the event via a giant video screen which read: “Korin, Adam Jones wants to ask you something...Will You Marry Me?”  Shortly after the message was displayed, the show’s cameras focused on Jones who dropped down on one knee and handed Korin a diamond engagement ring.
In other Tool news, the band is set to perform at the inaugural Ozzfest Japan, which runs May 11-12 at the Makuhari Messe arena, just outside of Tokyo.  Other artists set to perform at the event include Black SabbathSlipknotStone Sour, Slash and Deftones.
