BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's 'Temper, Temper' Cracks U.S. Top 15

"Temper, Temper", the fourth album from Welsh metallers BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, sold 44,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 13 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD arrived in stores on February 12 via RCA.

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's previous effort, 2010's "Fever", opened with 71,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at No. 3. It was also a Top 10 release in the U.K., Japan, Australia,Austria, Canada, Germany and Switzerland.

The Welsh quartet changed the way they approached making an album this time around, with guitarist/vocalist Matt Tuck and drummer Michael "Moose" Thomas traveling to Thailand to do the initial writing and recording for the album. Tuck told The Pulse Of Radio why they made the trip. "It was just nice being in a studio 24/7, really, you know, with no distractions from home and stuff," he said. "So that was kind of the main reason why we went there and it just worked out well, you know, because we didn't have any pressures from having to travel, having to cook your own food — just all the stuff that is an everyday process obviously takes a lot of time out of the day to be creative. So just being there, being able to write 24/7, was a huge advantage."

The first single from "Temper, Temper" is called "Riot".

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE will headline the fifth edition of the"HardDrive Live" tour, which will kick off on April 12 in Denver. Joining them will be main support HALESTORM, plus special guests YOUNG GUNSand openers STARS IN STEREO. The trek is sponsored by the nationally syndicated weekly Active Rock radio program "HardDrive".

BUCKCHERRY's 'Confessions' Projected to Sell 12K-15K First Week

"Confessions", the sicth studio album from Californian rockers BUCKCHERRY, is likely to sell between 12,000 and 15,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release, according to industry web siteHits Daily Double. The estimate was based on one-day sales reports compiled after the record arrived in stores on February 19 via Century Media Records.

BUCKCHERRY's previous CD, "All Night Long", opened with around 28,000 copies in August 2010 to land at position No. 10 on The Billboard 200 chart.

The band's fourth studio effort, titled "Black Butterfly", premiered with around 47,000 copies back in September 2008 to enter the chart at No. 8.

To celebrate the release of "Confessions", the Los Angeles rock band —Josh Todd (vocals), Keith Nelson (guitar), Stevie D. (guitar), Jimmy Ashhurst (bass), Xavier Muriel (drums) — will headline three intimate hometown shows at The Viper Room in West Hollywood on March 7, 8 and 9.

"The Viper Room is where it all began for us," says Todd. "At one point when we would hit the stage in that small club, the crowd sounded like an arena. It was so explosive that we landed a record deal and now 15 years later we're coming back to do it all again."

"Confessions" was produced by Keith Nelson and Marti Frederiksen(AEROSMITHOZZY OSBOURNE) and features eclectic CD artwork by graffiti artist Ewok. The songs on "Confessions" merge punk grit, gutter attitude, honest storytelling, and razor sharp hooks, while the lyrics are tied together by the underlying theme of the Seven Deadly Sins.

In a recent interview with Loudwire.comTodd elaborated on the album's subject matter. Josh explained, "There was a point in my life when I was a youth when I lost a family member and I acted out in my grieving process through the deadly sins, so that's kind of what the story's about on the record. I think the seven sins are timeless and that everybody struggles with them in their daily lives all the time."

The album's first single, "Gluttony", is impacting Active Rock in the U.S. and Top 5 at Active Rock in Canada. The provocative video for"Gluttony" — directed by Billy Jayne and filmed in a North Hollywood church — can be seen below.

A two-disc deluxe version of the "Confessions" CD is also available and features the bonus tracks "Give 'Em What They Want" and "When The Fire Starts". In addition, a bonus DVD includes the "Gluttony" music video and lyric video, behind-the-scenes footage and band interviews from the set of the "Gluttony" video shoot, and "The Story Behind Confessions" featurette. "Confessions" will also be released on vinyl in April.

Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan Stars in Humorous Furniture Commercial

Billy Corgan takes on the owners of the Walter E. Smithe furniture company in a new commercial for the Chicago-area retailer.
The 30-second spot features The Smashing Pumpkins frontman in a game of musical chairs with the Smithe brothers, who are known around Chicago for appearing in company commercials.  Corgan scores a seat when the music stops, which angers one of the Smithe brothers. The singer gets shoved out of his seat and calls in three wrestlers from his Resistance Pro wrestling company to take the Smithe brothers out.
“I am proud of Resistance Pro’s growing popularity,” said Corgan in a statement.  “Tim Smithe and his brothers presented us with the opportunity to share our brand.”
While the commercial will run on TV in the Chicago area starting next week, you can see it now on YouTube.
