So it is no secret that I love metal music. Don't get me wrong, I love all kinds of rock music in general and that is why I am here but heavy metal has been something I have absolutely loved since I was like 12. Being a radio dude, we get all sorts of perks to the gig. The main one (in my opinion) is all of the free music that rolls in. The majority of it comes through via email downloads off of record label servers where for a select time, we can download the whole album. This is why every other week I have a new favorite band, album or song. It is too accessable and awesome! The downfall of this though is that some weeks become overkill on new music and it is easy to miss something. Case and point, the latest album from prog-metallers, PERIPHERY and their latest disc, "Periphery II: This Time it's Personal".
I remember it came out in the summer time and listened to the first few tracks. It is not that I didn't like it, it just rolled out the same week as three or four other things. With it being the end of the year, a lot of websites do top ten lists (SEE MINE HERE) and the new Periphery kept popping up.
Last night I finally sat down and listened to it and holy balls is it amazing! Had I paid any attention to it six months ago, it may have been my favorite disc of 2012. I will never doubt this band ever again!
